Saturday of the Fifth Week in Ordinary Time. 1Kings 12:26-32;13:33-34/Mark 8:1-10
Theme: Total disappointment

We are grateful to God for bringing us to the end of another week. We entrust the weekend's activities into his providential hands.
To have built high places to replicate the Temple at Jerusalem was a slap on the face of religious faithfulness. It was a total abomination. Worse of it all was the fashioning of idols.
These actions of Jeroboam amounted to total disappointment and rejection of God. This is the beginning of the crisis and collapse of the nation.
We must remember that we have put in honorary positions to bring honour, lead others to Christ and give Christ to others. We must use our position to witness to Jesus.
Never must we tread on the path of sacrificing the truth on the altar of our parochial needs. Never must we resort to doing anything according to our own whims and caprices. Let us always seek guidance from God for every step we make in our lives through prayer.
He knows our needs. He knows our situation and makes definitive plan to restore and recreate us. Ours like the disciples is trustingly put all we have into his providential hands.
Mistrust is an affront to our dignity as disciples of Jesus. Mistrust leads to rejection.
We pray for the grace to trust and obey always. May He bless and keep us all.
We pray for God's journey mercies for all travelers. God loves you precious one.
Have a restful day.
